Rebuilding Stability in the Philippines: How Local Partnership Drives Effective Relief
When Typhoon Tino made landfall on 2 November 2025, it brought destructive winds and severe flashfloods across Cebu Province. Families in low-lying areas of Talisay and underserved communities in Balamban experienced rapid flooding that forced evacuations within minutes. Many households lost their belongings, including basic items needed to prepare food, store water, and carry out daily routines.
Give to the World is working with MARADECA to deliver targeted assistance to 200 of the most affected families. This partnership focuses on essential Non-Food Item support needed to stabilize day-to-day living conditions during early recovery. Households will receive kitchenware kits, water containers, and basic materials for shelter repairs, allowing them to prepare meals, protect their homes, and restore a sense of order.
MARADECA’s teams are rooted in the communities they serve. Their staff bring practical experience and local insight, which helps ensure that assistance reaches families quickly and with dignity. Because the team works directly with barangay leaders and municipal disaster committees, distributions can be carried out efficiently and based on verified household lists.
Each kit represents a step toward restoring normalcy. Families will have clean water containers, essential utensils for food preparation, and materials to stabilize damaged structures. This work is significant for households that have received little or no support since the flooding and continue to face resource gaps.
The project will be completed within a one-month timeframe. All procurement, distribution, and reporting will take place during this period, providing timely support as communities work through the initial stages of recovery.
This effort is possible because of the generosity of Give to the World’s donors. Your support enables practical, timely relief in moments when households are working to regain safety and stability. As distributions begin, we will share updates from MARADECA’s field teams and highlight the progress of families who are rebuilding after Typhoon Tino.
