COLOMBIA & VENEZUELA
Venezuela remains a key area of concern as the country enters its seventh year of economic crisis, with approximately 25% of the population in need of humanitarian assistance. Venezuelans remaining inside the country suffer from severe fuel, food, and medication shortages. Refugees crossing into Colombia, often traveling by foot, are already in poor health and in need of immediate medical care that the health system is unable to support at scale. COVID-19 has created another set of challenges to an already desperate situation, creating unemployment and inability for refugees to be able to beg in the streets.
